Ashtonishment

In this work, the pre-Hispanic Mexican mask has a look of wonder, as if signifying fascination with every being born to grow and transform as part of nature. In turn, the branches emerging from behind the head, in addition to symbolizing growth, refer to family, to the tree from which we all come and which, in one way or another, we will also contribute to growing. The flowers in the woman's hair also connect us to nature: we all, at some point, bloom, we all, at some point, will once again become part of some flower, the cycle of life. In addition to implying the natural world, they also speak of family, like the family tree, which connects the woman with closed eyes to the mask, because we are all connected to our ancestors.
